The attachment used for this lamp shade is called a washer attachment, and it is finished in a nickel color. This type of attachment is also commonly known as a spider attachment. If your lamp has a harp, you will generally need to use a washer attachment.

The hole size (inner-dimension) of the washer attachment is slightly under 1/2 inch. The drop, or recess, of this particular attachment is 1/2 inch, meaning it sits about 1/2 inch below the top of the lamp shade.
